Miller Waste Systems is looking for a Tire/Utility Person with 2+ years of experience in the heavy truck/transportation industry and with 2+ years of commercial tire replacement/repair experience. A collaborative but strong nature is essential, and the applicant’s background in parts and maintenance and the transportation industry will allow them to succeed and grow within Miller Waste.

Responsibilities:

  • In the position of Tire/Utility Person your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Must adhere to MillerWaste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health& Safety Act.
  • Mounting and dismounting of tires for our fleet of trucks, and cleaning and care of rims.
  • Inventory control of tires, rims, recaps and hardware.
  • Yard, shop and office upkeep and maintenance and cleaning of company vehicles
  • At times, you may be required to assist mechanics with some basic maintenance items.

Requirements:

  • The successful applicant will be comfortable with prioritization, planning, coordination, and organization, with an ability to respond and adapt in changing, high pressure environments. This individual will be able to assess problem situations, recognize issues, and use judgment to create solutions that meet required standards.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Being a team player with safe working habits and good communication skills.
  • Previous heavy truck tire repair experience will be considered a strong asset for this position.
  • Commercial Vehicle Wheel Service Certification an asset, company willing to train to obtain for the right candidate.
  • You must be available to work latewhen trucks are behind schedule, as well you may be required to work weekendsand holidays.

Flexibility is also required as this position occasionally requires travel, early starts, late finishes and, on rare occasions, weekend work.
