  • Conduct field investigations.
  • Prepare contract drawings and specifications.
  • Create functional, preliminary, and detailed engineering designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Develop cost estimates, tender packages, and project documents.
  • Engage with clients and deliver presentations as needed.
  • Assist in client development, project budgeting, and proposal preparation.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality project deliverables to meet client expectations.
  • Support project/client managers in establishing appropriate timelines and work closely with design teams across our offices.
  • Conduct analysis and design structural projects, including commercial, public, and residential sites.
  • Coordinate the structural design process, including preliminary and detailed design drawings, and prepare related reports while maintaining communication with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors.
  • Possess experience in reviewing structural damage and preparing reports for litigation and insurance claims (an asset).
  • Fulfill any other duties as assigned.

Professional Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

  • Successful completion of a post-Secondary program in structural engineering or equivalent.
  • Membership in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD and BIM processes.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary consulting environment.
