Functions as an active member of a multidisciplinary team in the provision of patient-focused care for the Rehab/Geriatric Unit. The successful candidate will collaborate with other health care professionals in the planning and implementation of care for a wide variety of Rehab/Geriatric cases. ~ Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
~ Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
~ Medication administration and asceptic technique certification mandatory.
~Advanced RPN assessment skills (i.e. catheterization care, skin/wound care).
~ Caring and compassionate attitude towards patients and families.
~ Ability to co-ordinate and interface with community resources, CCAC and family members, e.g. discharge conferences.
~ Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position such as lifting and transfer of heavy care patients, utilizing assistance of others/equipment as required.
~ The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.
Hours: Monday to Sunday- Various rotating 12 hour shifts;26 per hour - $35.97 per hour
