Instrumentation Programmer
Summary of responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief Instrumentation and Automation Engineer of the Electrical Engineering department, the incumbent will be involved in the design and programming of industrial automation systems to support local and international mining projects. More specifically, he will be called upon:
- Program and configure PLCs to control industrial processes.
- Develop and support PLC and HMI programs for use on industrial equipment.
- Design and develop automation networks in collaboration with the interdisciplinary engineering team.
- Apply functional descriptions of process controls and sequences of operations based on process diagrams.
- Participate in the tendering and supplier selection process in collaboration with the procurement department.
- Review P&IDs and select instrumentation and control valves.
- Prepare input-output test plans and PLC programs.
- Ensure commissioning, debugging, optimization of automation programs, point-to-point testing and resolution of technical problems arising after start-up of operations.
- Follow safety and quality standards when designing and installing systems.
- Any other related tasks required during projects.
Requirements
- Electrical, computer or automation related degree.
- Minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience, including in the mining sector. International experience is an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of Allen Bradley and Schneider PLCs, industrial programming software such as SCADA and FactoryTalk are assets.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
- Experience in designing and configuring servers and OT networks and commissioning automated systems an asset.
- Available and authorized for occasional on-site travels in the Americas.
- Be able to communicate in French and/or English.

Additional information
- The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard.
- Possibility of working in hybrid mode (office and remote work).
- Possibility of traveling abroad and in Canada depending on the availability of the candidate.
