Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for multiple projects at the Young –Davidson Mine. The Senior Project Engineer will provide expertise in the different phases of projects including design, engineering analysis, print revisions, quotes, calls for tenders, scheduling, cost estimation and work monitoring. Applying their leadership abilities, they will manage different projects linked with other departments to find cost effective and safe solutions.
Supervises the development and application of the short-term and mid-term construction plan;
Coordinates the projects entrusted to him, from design to delivery of the final product via the following stages;
Carries out the design of the project;
Develops calls for tenders as well as budgets related to projects;
Participates in the analysis of submissions;
Establishes and follows the work execution schedule (including cost monitoring);
Maintains the communication link with the various contractors or departments involved in the work;
Provides technical support to the project and construction department;
Applies knowledge in pumping and structure analysis to resolve problems by working with other groups of the engineering department;
Mentors and coaches the junior staff in project management;
Supports Superintendent by having an active role in various projects.
Sc. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
~ Affiliation (or eligibility to register) with a Professional Engineering Organization.
~Experience with large infrastructure projects is an asset;
~ Experience with scheduling software is an asset;
~ Proficiency with AutoCAD, Deswik, or other mine planning software is an asset;
~ Accreditation in U/G Common Core modules is an asset;
~ Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
