Street Haven At The Crossroads is an organization located in Toronto, ON, dedicated to offering pathways for women experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We provide a range of integrated services, including emergency shelter, supportive housing, residential and community services, and adult education at our Learning Centre. Our mission is to assist vulnerable women in rebuilding and improving their lives.

Role Description

Street Haven is seeking a creative and dedicated Graphic Design Volunteer to join our team. As a Graphic Design Volunteer, you will collaborate with our marketing and communications team to create visually appealing and impactful designs that support our mission of empowering women experiencing homelessness and marginalization.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing promotional materials such as flyers, posters, brochures, and social media graphics to promote Street Haven's programs and events
  • Assisting in the creation of digital assets for online marketing campaigns and fundraising initiatives
  • Collaborating with staff to understand project requirements and develop design concepts that effectively communicate our message
  • Ensuring all designs align with Street Haven's brand guidelines and reflect our organization's values and objectives
  • Providing creative input and suggestions to enhance the visual appeal and effectiveness of our marketing materials

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Experience creating visual assets for various platforms (social media, websites, print)
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Passion for social justice and a commitment to supporting marginalized communities
  • Previous experience volunteering or working with non-profit organizations is an asset, but not required
