At Our Kids Media, you’ll be a part of a cross-disciplinary product team, creating and maintaining four digital platforms and their various products (across both print and digital media).

Your role:

  • Translate requirements into visually appealing designs and assets with a customer-centric mindset across web platforms, print publications, marketing collateral, email campaigns, and more.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager and cross-functional team through all phases of product development from conception to launch, including QA.
  • Embrace an iterative design process with a major emphasis on user experience and be receptive to feedback throughout to ensure final deliverables are cohesive. 
  • Maintain ownership of components/features you develop, focusing on transparency across decisions/trade-offs, and bridge the gaps between complex business problems and product solutions.
  • Tackle projects with competing priorities across multiple tasks/timelines efficiently to meet deadlines. 

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design (or a related field) and/or a minimum of 4-5+ years of equivalent experience with complex, multi-disciplinary projects in print and digital design.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a solid understanding of core design principles, UX/UI, and a good eye for photography/imagery. 
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Illustrator) and Figma for mockups and prototyping.
  • Proficiency with HTML & CSS in front-end development, and experience with VS Code and version control systems.
  • Experience with Javascript and various front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation are assets.
  • Experience with UX/UI design principles, user research, experimentation (A/B testing) and usability testing processes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and design process decisions.
  • Self-driven who can work well both independently and as part of a team to identify, assess, and escalate issues, and resolve competing priorities.
  • Balance high-level, solution-driven thinking with exemplary attention to detail.
  • Eager to learn new skills and proficiencies as new technologies/methods emerge.
  • Ability to work in person in Mississauga, ON, based on company policy.
