Firmware Engineer Montreal, QC – Hybrid On-site Full-time | Permanent Are you a hands-on firmware engineer who thrives in a collaborative hardware-software environment? We’re working with an industry leader in industrial control solutions, and they’re looking to bring on a Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded systems for next-gen control products. You’ll work on the full lifecycle – from concept and prototyping to debugging, testing, and final release. If you enjoy solving complex problems, working with cross-functional engineering teams, and shipping robust embedded code, this one's worth a closer look. What You’ll Do: Design and implement embedded C/C++ firmware for industrial control systems Own the full SDLC: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and deployment Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing systems Create and maintain detailed firmware design documentation Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams Conduct firmware validation, proof-of-concept tests, and support pilot production runs Stay current with tools, trends, and best practices in embedded systems Contribute to IP protection efforts by documenting inventions and working with patent teams What You Bring: 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development Proficiency in C/C++ , with strong debugging skills using tools like JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes Comfortable working with version control (Git or similar) Strong grasp of modular software architecture and embedded APIs Familiarity with RTOS and embedded microcontrollers Confident working with legacy code and improving existing systems Excellent English communication skills Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Why This Role: This is a chance to work on meaningful, real-world systems in a company that values accountability, innovation, and execution .
