People well-equipped to succeed in this role include newspaper, news service, and magazine editors with experience covering financial and business matters in a fast-paced environment. Our successful candidate will take a hands-on approach to guiding the news team, setting the editorial direction, and producing content optimized for multiple platforms. Responsibilities: Establishing a responsive content strategy that engages and informs a sophisticated business audience.Writing, curating, and editing content that leads conversations.Managing and mentoring a team of eight dedicated full-time journalists.Assigning and editing content developed by columnists and freelancers.Cultivating industry sources and representing the brands at industry events.Producing multi-platform content with support from our video production and creative services teams.Guiding the production of a printed newspaper.Coordinating editorial activities with sister brands Finance et Investissement and Conseiller.ca.Managing editorial-related expenses and investments.Working alongside sales and audience development teams to support their efforts in maximizing revenue and subscriptions.Maintaining a social media presence to promote the brand and your own expertise.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications Experience leading an editorial team with a digital-first mindset and commitment to meeting deadlines.A comprehensive understanding of business markets and financial products.Post-secondary degree or diploma in journalism or a related field.4-5 years of related experience.Experience in news and feature writing and multimedia storytelling.Knowledge of website analytics and SEO-related strategies.Comfort optimizing content for website content management systems and social media platforms.Comfort moderating panel discussions and speaking before an audience.Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InCopy.French proficiency is an asset.Other detailsThe Editorial Director reports to Newcom Media’s Vice-President – Content and Design, and works in a hybrid workplace.
