Our head office is located in North Burnaby, but our technicians work all across western Canada.Job SummaryThe Aerial Technician is responsible for assisting in the construction, erection and repair of towers. This position reports directly to the Project Manager – Construction, and takes direction from both the Project Manager and corresponding project Foreman.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClimb towers and ladders at various heights.Assist with the erection of various tower types and installation of new carriers on new builds and existing towers.Prepare and cleanup sites continuously and at the end of each project.Accurately record daily hours and work descriptions.Complete paperwork assigned by the Project Manager or Foreman.Follow all safety guidelines and protection procedures.Participate in safety meetings.Perform other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager or Foreman.Core CompetenciesGood mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of simple hand and power tools.Comfortable with technology, including MS Office, Adobe and wireless personal devices.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Detail oriented, organized and able to meet tight deadlines.Positive demeanor and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
Strong sense of professionalism.Open and willing to accept coaching.QualificationsHigh School graduate or equivalent.Must possess a valid driver's license.Previous experience in construction or general labour would be considered at asset.Job related certifications are an asset, including Occupational First Aid, WHIMS, Fall Protection Defined, Rescue Training and TDG.Working ConditionsPhysically demanding position that requires the ability to lift, carry, grip and handle unpredictable loads.Carry out tasks in confined spaces, at heights and under diverse weather conditions including heavy rain and/or snowfall.Must be willing to travel to various locations, work weekends and overtime as needed.We offer great compensation and benefits packages and a supportive team environment.Further to this, we build on our employees’ strengths to help them be successful in their roles.If interested in this opportunity please submit your cover letter and resume to jobs@verteccommunications.com
