Job Description:

The Municipality is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Municipal Treasurer. This opportunity will serve as integral part of the Senior Management Team for the Corporation in the areas of fiscal, financial and accounting matters.

Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Treasurer will be responsible for the overall effective management of the Financial Department of the Municipality. The Treasurer will be an engaged and active participant on the development of various policies, initiatives, and strategic investments that enhance the organizational well-being of the Municipality and quality of life in Red Lake.

This position is responsible for performing the statutory duties and requirements of the Treasurer for the Municipality of Red Lake; and for providing sound advice on fiscal, financial, and accounting matters to the CAO and Council on all statutory and custodial matters affecting the finances of the Municipality.

The preferred candidate will hold a post-secondary degree in business finance or related financial field, an accounting designation and a minimum of five (5) years of managerial and supervisory experience. Municipal Treasury experience will be considered an asset.
