The Role:
The Assistant Site Superintendent will assist the Site Superintendent in the day to day activities, which entails directing staff and contractors to ensure that the site runs smoothly and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Site Superintendent to prepare and execute project plans.
- Ensure full compliance of health and safety adherence on site at all times.
- Ensure that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that quality standards are maintained.
- Assure compliance to the safety regulations as set out by Madison Group and the Ministry of Labour.
- Assist in the management and coordination of all staff and trades on site.
Qualifications:
- Construction Management Degree/Diploma (Preferred) or Construction Engineering Degree/Diploma
- Good communications skills, especially command of English (written and oral)
- Be organized, decisive, and have strong attributes to solving daily issues and details.
- Must be able to work within a team or a single entity
- Able to work within strict timelines
- Self-motivated with strong work ethics
- Demonstrate the ability to lead
- Must have a working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code Part 9
- Proficiency in Excel/ Word/ Office operating systems
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings and other documents
