The Trans Mountain Expansion Project will provide increased capacity to support Canadian crude oil production growth and ensure access to global energy markets. The largest project in the pipeline’s history, it involves installing approximately 980 kilometres of new pipeline, as well as new and modified facilities.

Reporting to the Director, Pipeline Spread 5B for the Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP) the Project Manager, Spread 5B will be responsible for the assigned pipeline construction in the Hope, BC area while collaborating with the other Project Managers on Spread 5B.
Responsible for the project execution of the TMEP on Spread 5B construction areas which includes water and Right of Way (ROW) management, sheet piling, minor trenchless construction, support for major trenchless construction, grade and trench blasting, tunnel construction, steep slope construction, stove pipe construction, and mainline construction.
Support the Director, Pipeline Spread 5B by following the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and ensuring that the Construction Execution Plans developed by the General Construction Contractor (GCC) are aligned with the PEP.
Work closely with the TMEP Construction Manager and the TMEP Inspection resources to provide oversight of the GCC while preparing for and executing the project construction activities.
Ensure exceptional teamwork, communication, and people skills are practiced daily while working closely with the assigned TMEP internal stakeholders (Safety, Environmental, Quality, Regulatory Compliance, Damage Prevention, and Stakeholder Engagement).
Work closely with TMEP Supply Chain representatives to ensure the contract requirements are followed.
Work closely with Project Controls representatives throughout construction to ensure project delivery is on schedule and within budget. Provide leadership and guidance to identify and mitigate risk while ensuring the Project Safety Plan and Environmental Protection Plan are implemented and complied with during all phases of construction.
Take a proactive approach to risk management to ensure project risks are identified, mitigated, and actively managed.
Work with the TMEP Supply Chain representatives to provide input to the selection of subcontractors and equipment vendors required to carry out construction execution.
Work with the TMEP Project Controls representatives to complete regular project reports and updates including cost, schedule, progress, and KPIs.
Ensure document management and lifecycle information requirements are being met through all phases of project execution.
A Degree in Construction Management or Engineering or an Engineering Technology Diploma.
A minimum of 10 years of experience working as a Project Manager managing major construction contractors planning and executing complex construction projects.
Experience in successfully planning and executing the construction and close out of major projects.
Extensive knowledge of large diameter pipeline systems.
Possess a strong technical knowledge, organizational skills, and people skills to effectively interface with a diverse team of TMEP project stakeholders
Experience working with Provincial and Federal Regulatory Agencies.
A proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
Based on-site in the TMEP Hope, BC project office.
