Mechasys is developing a smart laser projection system that allows full-scale construction plans to be displayed directly on construction sites. With our technology, using computer vision, laser positioning and optics and photonics solutions, we’ve developed a cutting edge technology to project the information of construction plans on jobsites with an accuracy of 3 mm. With our systems, workers no longer need to draw plans by hand on construction sites for laying materials. The act of drawing plans on the ground is eliminated, allowing workers to install materials 5 times faster and more efficiently while reducing the risk of errors caused by hand tracing. This accelerates productivity rates on construction sites, reduces the risk of human error and optimizes the entrepreneur's profits.The senior robotics engineer contributes directly to the design, development, manufacturing of the companies’ hardware products regarding electronics and mechanical parts with special emphasis on optics. The senior engineer will largely lead and contribute to focus and mature the product from a small production to a full scale production line.Responsibilities include:Contributes directly to all aspects of the development over the entire project life (concept, development, integration, qualification, acceptance, and delivery);Analyze, pinpoint and solve engineering problems relating to optics, measurement components and mechanical parts before they arise, with a specific focus on the product manufacturing upscaling stage;Formulate and propose engineering solutions with an actionable work plan to team members when issues are effectively identified;Establish objectives, specifications, schedules and contingency plans to ensure projects are executed effectively;Review all engineering change order documents submitted for accuracy and completeness prior to processing for approval. Make assessments about the correctness of changes submitted and provide recommendations that align with company objectives with regards to engineering;Ensure engineering documentation is generated and maintained across the various systems and system components, to include architecture documents, operations concepts, requirements, designs, interface control, test plans, transition plans and others.Preferred Skills/Experience B.Eng / M.Eng degree in mechanical, robotics or metrology related engineering or equivalent;Experience developing hardware robotics products from conception through all R&D phases;Must have experience with 3D CAD modeling, preferably Solidworks;Experience in a laser trackers (e.g. Leica AT500);Creating calibration processes for precision instruments;Coding in C++ / Python;Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English;Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills;Results oriented and entrepreneurial with solid planning and organizational capabilities;Strong ability to work well with others by emphasizing team communication and creating actionable plans.
