Established in 2017, COBIDE Engineering Inc. is a busy consulting engineering and planning firm located in Hanover, Ontario. We work with both the public and private sectors to facilitate land development applications for private, not-for-profit, and public sectors across Grey, Bruce and Wellington Counties.

COBIDE Engineering provides consulting planning services from pre-consultation through to development approvals in all applications made under the Planning Act . As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of planning and development projects with a team of highly experienced planning and engineering professionals. We consistently have a wide variety of projects that encompass the full spectrum of land use planning. In this role, you can expect to:

  • Manage various projects including development applications, including liaising with clients, municipal staff, other consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with the preparation of various reports and designs, including Planning Justification Reports, Due Diligence Reports, Site Plans and Subdivision designs;
  • Analyze planning policies and regulations, and provide opinions;
  • Attend meetings with clients and Council, occasionally outside of normal business hours;
  • Complete tasks within a given timeline and effectively communicate progress on various tasks;

Qualifications and skills required:

  • A University degree in Planning or Planning-related degree.
  • Full or Candidate Member with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) and the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) is required.
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Planning Act , Provincial Policy Statement, Places to Grow Plan, Upper and Lower Tier Official Plans and Zoning By-Laws is required.
  • Relevant experience in Land Use Planning and Development in the private sector or at the Municipal level is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, time management, research and organizational skills;
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills; and,
  • Possess a valid “G” driver’s license.

A full benefits package is offered with this position and salary will be based on qualifications, skills and experience which will be discussed through the interview process. This is an in-office position and our office is located at 517 10th St. Hanover, ON and our business hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
