The role in a nutshell

Ready for your next step? In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as an integral member of the communications team with our Nickel division. Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Affairs, you will be responsible for organizing and facilitating the development of presentations for Glencore Nickel, including internal presentations delivered by Nickel management to corporate and other key external presentations. You will make our messages clear and our visuals sharp.

This is a mid-level communications position requiring comprehensive project management and presentation skills, with the ability to interpret and visually present data. This role is a one-year contract position, with the potential to lead to full-time. It requires a balance of creativity and accuracy. Glencore values work-life balance, however, occasional extended or non-traditional hours may be required to accommodate time zone differences and/or meet deadlines.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead the project management, coordination, and compilation of presentations by tracking multiple stakeholder input, identifying gaps and following up with content contributors.
  • Identify and clearly articulate the key messages of the presentations.
  • Prepare for and launch process to compile regular annual and quarterly presentations according to corporate calendar.
  • Compile, design, and format presentations and supporting materials using Glencore’s visual identity standards.
  • Plan, conceptualize and design compelling and impactful graphics and charts while collaborating with team members to strengthen messaging.
  • Ensure accuracy and high level of precision of data and formatted material.
  • Lead the creation of reusable templates for future projects that meet business needs.
  • Maintain library of prior presentations – know what we said previously and how we said it. Create depot of presentations for re-use.
  • Various ad-hoc requests.
Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, the extractive industry is an asset (but not a prerequisite)
  • Expertise in PowerPoint, Excel and graphic design; ability to interpret and present data visually through graphs and charts using Excel data
  • Ability to align creations with brand guidelines
  • Comprehensive communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced time management, planning and prioritization skills; ability to deliver within strict deadlines
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates creativity and creative thinking Demonstrates initiative and effective collaboration within team and small group settings
  • Positive attitude
Languages: Comprehensive English; Knowledge of French is an asset.
