Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic invites applications for the position of:

TEACHER LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO)

MOTHER ST BRIDE 1.0 FTE

Kindergarten JK/SK

Effective immediately, Until approximately February 25, 2025, but not to extend beyond June 27, 2025

Mandatory Requirements:

· Basic qualifications to teach in the Primary Division

Preferred Requirements:

· Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the above division

· Experience with inquiry-based learning in kindergarten classrooms, promoting curiosity, critical thinking, and active engagement to support students exploration and understanding

· Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies

· Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment

· Understanding of the Ontario Curriculum, the Ontario Kindergarten Program (2016) and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy

· Knowledge and experience in supporting comprehensive (structured) literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction.

· Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents

· Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies

· Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement

· Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties

· Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school environment would be an asset

· Additional qualifications in Special Education would be an asset
