We are looking for an experienced marketing professional who can deliver industry leading trade marketing programs to our retail partners, growing sales of TallGrass brands. You would accomplish this by developing annual trade marketing plans in line with sales and marketing objectives and managing trade marketing budgets. In addition to this, you would coach and develop the TallGrass trade marketing team to produce successful promotions, sell sheets, POS materials, and events throughout the year. The Trade Marketing Manager reports to the Brand Manager.
Provide management and oversight on key trade marketing programs to deliver growth for TallGrass and our retail partners, meeting deadlines, staying on budget and achieving defined KPIs
Co-op advertising, trade marketing campaigns and discounting
Industry trade shows including but not limited to CHFA NOW
Ensure brand promotional plans as defined by brand managers are properly implemented with our retailer customers
Provide sales team with trade marketing tools to support implementation of channel-specific and/or retailer specific marketing strategies
Conceptualize and execute impactful in-store campaigns in collaboration with brand and sales teams
Develop understanding of TallGrass marketing budgets to both manage assigned budgets and provide guidance and insight to sales team for budgets they utilize on a day-to-day basis
Ensure production timelines for Trade Marketing sell sheets, displays, POS, coupons and other as materials as needed are met
Act as the key liaison with TallGrass sales leadership team to ensure trade marketing programs are meeting the needs of sales team and our retail partners
Present key trade marketing initiatives and results to TallGrass sales team
Lead the monthly Trade Marketing Meeting with sales and company leadership
Develop interdepartmental understanding and relationships to better understand impacts of trade marketing programs on other TallGrass teams
Utilize a data driven approach to decision making and planning for future program changes
Keep abreast of industry best practices and look for ways to implement within the TallGrass trade programs
Visit local points of sale to ensure that brands are visible and guidelines are respected
Trade Marketing Team Coaching
Coach a team of specialists and coordinators responsible for the day-to-day implementation of trade marketing programs and events, developing their skillsets and growth within TallGrass
Oversee Trade Marketing Coordinator’s planning & implementation of industry and consumer trade shows
Take brand supplied content and work with Trade Marketing Production Specialist to ensure actionable briefs are produced to create new product sell sheets, promotional campaigns, and POS material
Provide feedback and direction on creative projects ensuring finished projects are effective and meet guidelines as defined by TallGrass brand partners
Maintain an awareness of current packaging projects and ensure Trade Marketing Production Specialist has tools and support as needed
Multi-tasker – You are able to thrive in a dynamic work environment with a multitude of projects on the go at once
Experienced – You have prior experience in trade marketing management and/or a degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
Skilled – You have demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, bonus points for SAP Business One
