Information Specialist - Nursing Resource Unit
The NRU at CAMH is an internal float pool comprised of Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, and Program Assistants, who deliver exceptional client care across all inpatient units at CAMH, in the event of strategically planned and unplanned staff absences.
The successful part-time, temporary (until November 22, 2024) candidate will report to the NRU Manager and Clinical Operations Coordination Leader and perform various administrative and data management functions to ensure smooth and effective operations within the NRU.
The NRU Office is located at the Queen Street Site in the Crisis & Critical Care Building (1051 Queen St. The successful applicant will work a rotating schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends. Shifts are typically 0600-1400 and 1400-2200; however, flexible hours may be required.
Acting as the first point of contact for the NRU by email and phone
Scheduling and assigning clinical staff to units as per staff’s discipline and training, in compliance with the relevant Collective Agreements
After Hours Site Administrators, inpatient units)
Creating and maintaining databases, processes, reports, and forms
Participate in office budgeting and payroll activities (ANSOS)
Planning and organizing education events and other meetings
Organizing, monitoring, and ordering supplies
special projects; Supporting a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.
Relevant Bachelor’s degree combined with two (2) years of related experience
Experience with staffing in a healthcare environment is a strong asset
Experience working within a mental health setting is a strong asset
Excellent interpersonal, communication, scheduling, teamwork, and information management skills
Strong technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Able to multi-task and work effectively in a busy health care environment, with minimal supervision
Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in another language would be an asset
