We specialize in the development, financing, engineering, construction as well as operation, and maintenance of commercial and utility-scale solar installations.Your Accountabilities:Lead and Innovate: Drive project development from land acquisition to regulatory compliance, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to keep projects on track and within budget throughout their lifecycle.Milestone Mastery: Ensure projects meet development milestones on time and within budget, readying them for construction and transactions.Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with local governments, permitting authorities, regulatory agencies, utilities, and other stakeholders across the US and Canada.Stakeholder Engagement: Manage consultants and stakeholders for timely, cost-effective project outcomes. Coordinate site visits and fieldwork efficiently.Contract Compliance: Review and manage project contracts, ensuring all terms are met for smooth project execution.Data and Budget Oversight: Monitor project data, timelines, and budgets, using advanced tools to track and report progress.Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure solar PV systems meet industry regulations and buyer requirements.Team Leadership: Lead by example, solving issues related to permitting, interconnection, landowner management, and community relations.Executive Reporting: Create updates and presentations for executive teams, providing key project information and progress reports.Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence for solar projects, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors.Qualifications and skills:Relate to the SPG core values: Team-play; Tenacity; Sharing; Sustainability, Passion, and Ownership.3+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in developing ground mounted solar PV projects through the full project development cycle: real estate, planning and interconnection, understanding of designs and how to optimize them.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks, are crucial. Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling and budgeting. Ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams effectively is essential.Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, renewable energy, project management, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management (e.g., PMP - Project Management Professional) would be an asset.Understanding of the regulatory landscape and permitting processes for solar projects is must. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental compliance, grid interconnection, zoning, and permitting requirements is necessary.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential. The ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, regulatory authorities, utility companies, and other stakeholders.Experience in project acquisition and/or construction would be an asset.Taking pride in optimizing project development timelines and critical path analysis is important. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.Work effectively in a fast-paced working environment.Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
