Senior Accountant - Carrington Construction Canada
The Senior Accountant, reporting to the Controller, is a member of the accounting team, they ensure transactional day-to-day accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain general ledger for multiple entities by inputting daily financial transactions.
Responsibility for full cycle accounting including month end close procedures.
Responsible to post daily deposits and reconciliation to sales closings.
Resolving financial problems, investigate issues and resolve accounting transactions in accordance with company policies.
Variance analysis of financial results against budgets.
Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial regulatory reporting requirements and tax filings including GST, PST
Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet account reconciliations, including but not limited to bank reconciliations and intercompany.
Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for accounting transactions.
Develop and maintain project specific reporting and analysis for internal clients.
Maintain an accurate trail and support for all financial and accounting transactions.
Understand and maintain adequate and effective internal controls under the direction of the controller.
Other duties within the finance department as assigned.
Completed bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related academic field of study comparable to Canadian academic standards preferred.
Seven (7) or more years of reliable and sustained experience and knowledge in all aspects of Corporate Accounting, required.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook required.
Knowledge of accounting system, budgets and internal controls required.
Ability to use enterprise-level financial record-keeping software systems such as Sage Timberline, D365 Business Central, Yardi and Caseware, preferred.
Manual dexterity is required to work with computers and peripherals.
Work is performed at the work site. Remote or Hybrid work not available.
Accuracy is crucial in this position, the ideal candidate must possess strong and accurate data entry skills.
