As a Registered Practical Nurse, assumes the team leader role of the Resident Home Area including resident care, staff, and the environment within the RPN scope of practice;provides optimum individualized resident care in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Practice, College of Nurses of Ontario, and long-term care legislation.
As a valued member of the team, the Registered Practical Nurse demonstrates a commitment to resident safety by providing quality care in accordance with the Pioneer Ridge vision, mission, and caring philosophy.
· Plans, implements, coordinates, and evaluates the nursing care of the residents to meet their physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and social needs.
· Completes all required documentation including assessment, care plans, medical documentation, MDS and RAI.
· Encourages resident participation and family support in activities of daily living and participates in the provision of health promotion.
· Knowledge of long-term care legislation; specifically, the Long Term Care Home Act as well as the Residents Bill of Rights
· Experience in Long Term Care or gerontology
· Comprised of 200+ staff, who are highly skilled and trained, Pioneer Ridge provides 150 Long Term Care beds and is a place for residents to live well. Residents are treated equally in a setting of compassion and care, through quality nursing care, life enrichment programs, balanced nutrition, and social and spiritual opportunities.
