In your role, you will:- Participate in design and sizing activities for R&T projects from concept to entry into service
- Participate in structure design (metallic & composite) and/or system installation design
- Carry out stress activities to define and size major systems or structural interfaces, FEA and analytical hand calculations for example
- Carry out stress calculations to assess design solutions and trade studies
- Prepare stress reports and formal compliance documents
- Participate in problem-solving activities and provide technical solutions
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams: aerodynamics, structure design, systems architecture, etc.
- Liaise with suppliers, internal and external
- Provide visibility to management as needed
- Have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering
- Have a minimum of 5 years of structural analysis experience in static, for primary structures and system components (metallic and composite)
- Are proficient in using software packages such as MSC PATRAN/NASTRAN, Altair Hyper Works, LS-DYNA as well as CATIAv5 or NX, and the MS Software Suite (MS Word, MS Excel)
- Have knowledge in object-oriented programming methods. Python is an asset
- Have knowledge in design and manufacturing processes of the aerospace industry
- Have a good understanding of aircraft production methods and processes
- Are autonomous, result-driven, and enthusiastic with strong work ethics
- Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Have strong communication skills and can easily tailor your communication to suit the audience
- Strive for harmonious cohesive teamwork
