Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Sector

The ideal candidateis a professional who is equally comfortable in leading design projects andusing his or her professional network of clients to generate requests forproposals, prepare and present proposals, and lead work execution. This is a rare opportunity to develop your career and atthe same time directly contribute to the firm’s growth and development. In your role as a senior engineer, you will contribute to proposals, technologyselection, and the interconnection process and provide electrical solutions toclients.

An overview of yourmandates and responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain lasting client relationships
  • Define the scope of projects and proposals
  • Lead engineering projects, design reviews and preparetechnical reports
  • Plan and coordinate work, from studies tocommissioning
  • Develop technical documents and provide technicaltraining in this field of expertise
  • Participate in the preparation of engineeringstudies
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs and technicalspecifications for construction
  • Assign and review the work of junior engineers (engineers-in-training),technicians and drafters assigned to projects and assess technical scope

Job requirements at aglance

  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Member of a Canadian professional engineeringassociation
  • Practical experience in the power sector
  • Good knowledge of Ontario utilities standards(SIA/CIA studies, interconnections process with the IESO and utilities, ESArequirements)
  • Onsite experience and work safety
  • Experience in troubleshooting, commissioning andsystem installation
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Availability to occasionally travel to clientlocations and BBA's offices as dictated by project needs
  • Asset: Experience in a consulting engineeringenvironment
  • Asset: Experience performing cost estimates andpreparing and presenting proposals
  • Asset: A second or third language (French and/orSpanish).
