Job Purpose:

This role will be a leader that sets global strategy and standard process for the Business Process Improvement (BPI) and Lean functions across logistics services. This role will establish global common process and tools for accomplishing the required work. The role is global in scope for logistics in all regions in scope currently, but will support growth of BPI and lean into new regions.

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Responsible for global common process and tools for the BPI (BPI Waves, Six Sigma, GSA and Lean).
  2. Ensure consistent approach for global customers.
  3. Continually enhance, standardize and streamline the processes, templates, and tools.
  4. Incorporate lessons learned and best practices from operations, launch, and external sources.
  5. Prepare the yearly GSA programme for execution in the regions.
  6. Ensure best practice process and tools are applied throughout the regions.
  7. Assist regions in creating annual BPI plan for budgeted cost and benefit objectives.
  8. When applicable, ensure cross-regional operational support and triage support is identified for sites with customer escalations, volume increases, backlogs, challenges with customer KPI achievement, financial/budget risks.
  9. Facilitate growth of BPI and BI capabilities into new regions and industry verticals.
  10. Ensure global training procedures are updated and maintained for process and tools.
  11. Market awareness of training programs (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) across regions to encourage participation and upskill regional resources.
  12. Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Preferred: Graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA)

EXPERIENCE

  • Have a minimum of 15 years’ strong experience in 3PL with focus on contract logistics
  • 10 years experience managing teams of both technical and managerial resources
  • Experience in Operations, Engineering, or IT roles
  • Experience working in Americas, Europe, and Africa
  • Ability to communicate and present findings effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Successfully juggle multiple projects at the same time; deliver quality results and are comfortable working with all sorts of styles of team members
