In this role, you will perform designing and analyzing outside plant (OSP) facilities, ensuring they meet all safety and regulatory requirements. You'll be an integral part of the engineering team and design networks using various tools to ensure constructability issues are incorporated into the network designs.be vitalAreas of Expertise:● 1-5 years of experience as an OSP Designer in the utilities and telecommunications sector would be a valuable asset.● A post-secondary degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field is beneficial.● A solid understanding of AutoCAD software and other design applications used in the engineering field is essential.● 1-5 years of experience with SpidaCalc software.● Prior experience in surveying or using AutoCAD software is highly regarded.● Proficiency in computer software, particularly MS Office Suite, is a must.● Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.● Proficiency in organization and time management, adept at juggling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines consistently.● Self-motivated individual with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.● Possess a working knowledge of construction and telecom documents, drawings, specifications, and current industry practices.Key Responsibilities:● Conduct comprehensive analyses of pole lines, utilizing software like SpidaCalc7, Quick Pole, and manual calculations to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards.● Design and draft aerial drawings, meticulously considering conductor spacing, separation, clearance, and physical strength requirements.● Navigate the intricacies of underground infrastructure projects, working on various drawings such as MC permits, conservation authority permits, specialty permits, and internal/construction drawings.● Collaborate seamlessly with the QA/QC team, adhering to established review processes to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of final drawings.● Leverage your expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to effectively communicate project details and collaborate with colleagues.● Attend customer meetings and perform site surveys or walk-outs as necessary to comply with customer requirements.● Additional duties as required.If you are a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment or you can able to effectively liaise with clients to address any concerns and ensure project satisfaction.
