Description
As a Director of Engineering at Manulife Financial Corporation, you will:
- Lead multi-functional technology teams dedicated to building and supporting the Bank’s technology systems.
- Redesign and build technology systems to support the Bank business in Canada, advisors, mortgage brokers, and customers.
- Employ re-usable and extensible frameworks, reference implementations, and patterns to deliver key product objectives.
- Deliver exceptional user experiences through products and services with strong architectural design.
- Guide and motivate engineering staff development, focusing on team engagement.
- Maintain and support services, ensuring production reliability and delivery of new functionality.
You bring and will continuously build upon the following skills:
- Must have experience in a banking environment.
- 8+ years leading Software Engineer teams.
- Deep, hands-on background in modern software development practices.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort in a rapidly changing startup environment.
- Expertise in agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, and continuous integration.
- Passion for developing engineers and growing staff.
- Experimentation with emerging technologies and understanding their impact.
- Capacity for constant learning from both success and failure.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence, maturity, and credibility to deliver technical vision.

Salary range: $107,730.00 CAD - $200,070.00 CAD
