This position is available to be either seasonal or full-time. The salary range for this position is $60K to $70K per annum (or hourly $29/hour to $35/hour for regular hours and overtime is calculated at 1.5 times the hourly rate). Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
Construction monitoring on commercial developments, highways and industrial projects
Performing field and laboratory testing of soil, aggregates, Portland cement, asphalt and concrete (including sieve analysis).
Density testing using nuclear density gauges.
Preparation of Proctors and Marshall molds, asphalt cement content, sand equivalents, Atterberg limits and moisture content, including evaluation and reporting of properties and characteristics.
Monitor geotechnical drilling, instrumentation installations, and core sample collections.
Monitor shallow and deep foundations.
Retaining wall construction and general earthworks on various projects.
2-5 years of Geotechnical/Materials testing or related construction experience is required.
Diploma from a technical institute in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, or equivalent work experience.
Some related industry experience in quality assurance/control for field and laboratory testing - preferably in the consulting sector would be considered an asset.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) is required.
Experience dealing with contractors and municipal design consultants would be beneficial.
Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and must provide current drivers abstract when applying preference will be given to candidates with a clean driving record.
Eligible for overtime (calculated at 1.Hybrid work options when you are not in the field. We'll provide the technology for you to work remotely.
