Material Control Assistant

Carte is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Control Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of the Material Control Team, you will support the various functions within the department which include reception, Labour reporting as it pertains to the Work Order System in HFA and report generation. Ensure material called up in the work orders are properly back flushed so jobs in the shop have correct costs associated with them. inventory management, container management and monthly report generation.

Carte is seeking and organized and dedicated individual to join our team as a Material Control Assistant.

What you will do:

  • Key labor and check and complete work orders daily.
  • Run the necessary reports to maintain the work order accuracy.
  • Check work orders for accuracy using fix forms and update for Month End.
  • Prepare outgoing mail on a daily basis and order postage.
  • Update and maintain spreadsheets to aid production.
  • Add new vendor numbers and type purchase orders.
  • Receive and process Kanban cards and work orders for Kanban parts.
  • Provide relief for Switchboard operations.
  • Assist the Material Control department when necessary to keep the flow of work up to date.
  • General promotion of and participation in Lean manufacturing, quality, health, safety and environmental excellence at Carte.
  • Release work orders using the MRP reports and document S.O. # and week #·
  • Maintain supplies in the Print Room, requisition when necessary (EG – copy paper, toner, etc)

What you will need to be successful:

  • Successful completion of a recognized business administration certificate program.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy a must with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong administrative support background.
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written.
  • Skilled with Excel, Micro Soft Word. in data entry, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess strong math skills.
  • A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate problem -solving, organizational and time-management skills.
  • Dynamic, initiative, enthusiasm, positive attitude, adaptable, open-minded.
