On a day-to-day basis, Oneka is a team of some sixty enthusiasts, working in fields as varied as mechanical engineering, electronics, marketing, operations management and water desalination. Your role as a Mechanical Engineer – Expert in valve conception at Oneka
As an expert in the design, testing and assembly of valves and hydraulic components , you will have a consultative role in the design of many of the hydraulic elements found in our new product, as well as contributing your expertise to our innovation team, in order to pursue the continuous improvement of our buoys.

Potential projects include:

Assembly and integration;
Anchoring and marine systems.

Draw parts and assemblies related to valve and hydraulic systems;
Determine dimensional and geometric tolerancing of assembly parts;
Get involved in the assembly, manufacturing and testing of new parts and systems (Hands-on).

Office based in Halifax, NS, or Sherbrooke, QC, in the company of passionate people;
Extensive experience and a keen interest in working in CAD (3D modeling and associated technical drawings), more specifically in the design of complex valve and hydraulic systems;
A diploma (DEC, AEC, Baccalauréat) in mechanics, or equivalent, or experience in the field;
It’s a plus if you also have these assets in your pocket:
Fluency in English and French, a plus;
Knowledge of the marine environment;
Workshop experience.
