The Partner Engagement Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting SITAG Labour Force Development agencies in engaging employers in First Nation employment initiatives. By fostering collaboration between SITAG Labour Force Development agencies, employers, and other stakeholders, this position will play a crucial role in creating First Nation employment opportunities. The Specialist supports Tribal Councils and First Nations in capacity building, process and strategy development, as well as training for delivery staff. The Specialist will support the growth, development and implementation of workforce development partnership initiatives. This position will require travel to various communities across the province. Support Labour Force Development (LFD) agencies with outreach to potential employer partners
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the SITAG network of First Nations and Tribal Councils
Customize engagement and support strategies that reflect community and Tribal Council growth aspirations, service delivery goals and objectives, as well as their capacity needs
Build relationships with community resources, their stakeholders, and key departments as needed

Training and Capacity Building
Provide training and support to Labour Force Development agencies to enhance their capacity in engaging employers and developing workforce initiatives
Develop or source service providers to create training materials and resources tailored to the needs of diverse stakeholders
Collaborate with First Nations and Tribal Councils to design and implement employment services, training plans and local capacity plans

Stakeholder Relations & Relationship Building
Facilitate partnerships and collaborations between employers, local government officials, First Nation businesses, and Labour Force Development agencies
Ensure representation from all relevant stakeholders in regional common planning tables
Where appropriate and needed ensure Labour Force Development agencies receive timely labour market information from common planning table meetings
Build and maintain relationships with key industry members, government officials, and community leaders
Monitor the progress of initiatives and projects related to industry relations and provide regular updates to management
Required Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Economics, or a combination of relevant work history and other non degree training. Proven experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, or workforce development. Incumbent must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation as travel is required.
As this position is considered safety sensitive, the incumbent will be subject to testing as per SIIT's Alcohol and Substances policy.
