Your Role:
W e are seeking a n innovative Electrical BIM Lead with a practical background to join our Digital Engineering D epartment and lead the integration of D esign with Engineering and Construction for our Pickering, ON office. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be innovative, practical, and multi-disciplinary . The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skil ls required . Responsibilities :
- Prepare complex BIM models using Revit and other BIM tools.
- Maintain and develop standard Revit families and BIM data requirements in a fast-paced environment .
- Develop workflows to integrate BIM models with Point Clouds to facilitate design for brownfield.
- Adopt and administrate new tools to drive the digital transformation of engineering , construction, and design using cloud technologies such as the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Cintoo , Procore, integration with analysis software ( ETAP ), etc .
- Integrate vendor designs/ 3D models ensuring integrity of BIM data is maintained by developing new workflows for different design authoring tools such as Bentley Microstation , Siemens NX , Solidworks , etc.
- Develop new workflows to streamline and automate generation of deliverables such as Bi ll of M aterials using Revit schedules , Single Line Diagram’s (SLDs), Load/ Cable Lists and electrical analysis using the BIM model.
- Lead and collaborate with other design disciplines to integrate and complete multi-discipline design s.
- Develop and detail high quality drawings, with strong attention to detail using a BIM- first workflow while also adhering to drafting standards.
- The ideal candidate will be capable of committing to and maintaining project timelines while working on multiple projects simultaneously .
- The ability to document and track project tasks and related design documents is required .
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in Revit and the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- H ands-on exp erience wiring, assembling, testing, or repairing electrical enclosures, PLCs, equipment/ control devices, fixtures, etc. as an electrical technician is considered a strong asset.
- Must be an adept problem solver, driven to innovate, and keen to work with a multi-disciplinary mindset.
- Experience with other BIM tools such as Bentley Microstation , OpenUtilities Substation , AVEVA E3D , Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, etc. is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code C22.1 and electrical standards is considered a n asset.
- Experience using ETAP electrical a nalysis software is considered an asset.
- Graduation from an accredited institute program in Electrical/Civil/Mechanical Engineering or Technology .
- P. Eng or OACETT Certification is considered an asset.
- 5 + years of relevant design and drafting experience in consulting and/or Energy industry is considered an asset .
- Ability to work in a team environment .
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills is required .
- Ability to work effectively wh ile managing multiple tasks .
