Job Description:

The job holder shall be responsible to define strategies and actions to improve the Health and Safety culture at AMConstruction* and support the sites to develop actions to improve their safety performance, including undertaking necessary audits and making recommendations for improvements. He/she will as well collaborate with the Head of H&S of AMDS and represent Health and Safety matters in ArcelorMittal Construction

Main Accountabilities:
  1. Develop ArcelorMittal Construction Health and Safety strategy to improve the safety culture
  2. Act as key support for CEO and Management Committee member regarding H&S
  3. Conduct regular site visits to undertake health and safety audits, prepare reports and action plans to correct any gaps
  4. Develop an annual & multi-year H&S action plan including regular follow ups and review on milestones
  5. Prepare and present weekly situation update to Management Committee and Safety Community
  6. Prepare and present monthly situation update (with analysis and recommendations); reliable feedback and manage necessary reporting
  7. Ensure sharing of relevant REX with the AMDS Health and Safety community and Management
  8. Drive the Journey To Zero strategy and follow the AMDS Curve, P6A & FPA
  9. Analyze events and propose actions to mitigate
  10. Effectively manage the risk analysis tools: identify risks and danger; to assess risks; to prioritize risks; determine the means of prevention and check the results at regular intervals
Skills and Education:

You bring a Bachelor/Master’s degree in engineering/physics/chemistry (among others). Master’s degree in Health & Safety from a leading school is a key asset. Field and result oriented with a "can-do" attitude. Hands-on approach. Good verbal communication, interpersonal skills and willingness to work with people at all levels of the organization. Excellent written skills. Strong analytical, problem solving and active listening skills. An eye for details. Ability to navigate IT tools. Proven experience in a similar role. Experience of working as part of a diverse and remote Team with a Team player attitude. Driver's license

Specific Skills and Responsibilities:

Language requirement: English. Other EU languages are a plus (e.g. French). Good knowledge steel/manufacturing operations, Group Health and Safety standards; pedagogue and keen listening skills
