Manufacturing Traineeship

HunterNet Career Connections, in partnership with our host company Poly Pipe are seeking Manufacturing Trainees to join the team in Toronto.

We are looking for motivated individuals who are interested in completing a Certificate III in Process Manufacturing. The successful applicants will complete this nationally recognised qualification, while gaining on the job experience over a 24-month Traineeship.

Our host company Poly Pipe was founded in 2006, where it became an industry specialist in the manufacturing of Polyethylene pipe systems for use in Data, water, gas, waste and energy. Located in the Hunter Valley, Poly Pipe has a modern extrusion and purpose-built manufacturing facility fitted with the latest equipment and has a high attention to detail, renowned for their quality assurance with all its products.

This position would suit a school leaver or someone seeking to work towards a career in the manufacturing industry.

Position Duties:

• Operate machinery to manufacture products in line with specifications and standards whilst following the production schedule
• Troubleshoot problems and adjust machine settings
• Carry out quality checks on products and use reporting mechanisms
• Package and label products
• Prepare and load customer orders for dispatch
• Maintain stockpiles in a tidy state
• Work within a team environment to ensure productivity
• Notify QA of rejected/damaged stock with proper documentation
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment across the plant
• Ability to work rotating shifts (day, afternoon and night)
• Excellent adherence to workplace health and safety
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Ability to read micrometers and verniers
• Ability to distinguish colours
• Ability to work alone and in a team environment
• Excellent attendance record
• NSW drivers license and own transport
• Experience using measuring tools and equipment
• Forklift License or willingness to obtain
