We’re looking for a Building Mechanical Engineering Consultant in our Markham office. The position will support a wide variety of projects involving code consulting, system design/evaluation, fire modeling, etc., for a diverse group of clientele in Canada.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Provide design, calculations, and technical support for the layout of plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems in retrofit or new projects.
- Complete engineering studies and assessments with accompanying reports.
- Convert markups into working CAD or Revit MEP drawings.
- Compile and prepare specifications relevant to each project.
- Manage deadlines, lead coordination efforts with other disciplines or consultants, and oversee the quality of deliverables.
- Review shop drawings and reply to requests for information submitted by contractors during the construction phase.
- Prepare change notices, change orders, and payment certificates as part of contract administration during construction.
- Conduct site surveys during investigative/design phases and complete routine site reviews during construction as part of the obligation to complete general reviews per OBC and to assure adherence to contract documents.
- Assist and contribute to the preparation of proposals and fees.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. A Master's degree or higher grade will be an asset.
- Shall be eligible to apply for a license in Ontario.
- A Professional Engineering license in Ontario, LEED, and Envision certificates are advantageous.
- 1-3 years of experience in the design of plumbing and drainage, HVAC, fire protection, and BAS system.
- Well-versed and familiar with applicable codes and standards including, but not limited to, the OBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA, and National Plumbing Code.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP, HAP, MS Office, and Excel.
- Self-motivated with strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads and expedited timelines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency in French is advantageous.
