Summary

Under the supervision of the Gagiikimaawasowi, the Numeracy Lead will play a pivotal role in delivering the Bimose Tribal Council Anishinaabe Student Achievement (ASA), numeracy program. The Numeracy Lead will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and implementing numeracy programs, as well as actively engaging with program personnel, member community schools, and procurement of necessary resources. 

Duties
  • Coordinate and implement numeracy programs within the framework of the ASA Program
  • Develop effective plans for numeracy initiatives and ensure their successful execution.
  • Ability to coach teachers to support the implementation of Numeracy products/programs and effective use of Numeracy in their teaching practices
  • Collaborate with partner schools to integrate numeracy initiatives into their curriculum.
  • Develop, promote and involve teaching staff in creative initiatives to share good practice.
  • Work closely with the Bimose Education team and ASA Committee.
  • Procure all necessary numeracy resources and materials in accordance with program requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of numeracy programs and initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the Gagiikimaawasowi on numeracy activities and outcomes.
  • Weekly travel to community schools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field
  • Experience in coordinating or leading numeracy programs or initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of numeracy education principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Valid Class G driver's license and ability to travel.
  • Understanding of Anishinaabe culture is an asset.
