The Millwright is responsible for repairing and maintaining all of production’s machines and equipment such as forklifts, mixers, conveyors, hydraulic / pneumatic systems, and general building maintenance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Carryout preventative maintenance and inspections duties
  • Read and interpret machine drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical circuits, PLC
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and irregularities
  • Perform repairs, troubleshooting and maintenance on heavy equipment and industrial machinery
  • Repair, Overhaul, Fabricate, Assemble, dismantle equipment using power tools, hand tools.
  • Operate machine tools such as a Drill press and various cutting tools.
  • Weld a variety of steel in all positions in the fabrication of fixtures and equipment repair.
  • Ensure safety devices are operating properly on completion of repair
  • Must be able to work at heights, confined spaces, and noisy environment
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances

Qualifications

  • 2-year experience in an industrial environment.
  • 2-year Welding and Fabrication experience preferred.
  • Must be Certified as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) through an approved post-secondary institution
  • Working knowledge of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electrical Controls and PLCs.
  • Ability to work at heights, confined spaces, and noisy environment
  • Must be able to troubleshoot PLC and control asset
  • Must be able to work safely on their own and in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral, and effective ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Able to read and use Vernier caliper and micrometer
