JOB OVERVIEW

The Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in supporting the HR function within the organization. Responsible for a diverse range of tasks, this role involves assisting in recruitment efforts, managing employee relations, overseeing performance management processes, administering benefits and payroll, ensuring legal compliance, and fostering employee engagement. Additionally, the HR Generalist provides valuable support in training and development initiatives and maintains HR records. With a focus on efficiency and compliance, this position contributes to the smooth operation of HR processes, contributing to the overall success and wellbeing of employees within the company.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Human Resources Generalist, your direct responsibilities will be:

Recruitment and Onboarding:

• Assist in drafting job descriptions and posting job openings.

• Screen resumes and conduct initial interviews for candidates.

• Coordinate onboarding process for new hires, including paperwork, orientation, and training schedules.

Employee Relations:

• Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and concerns.

• Mediate conflicts and facilitate resolution between employees when necessary.

• Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with confidentiality requirements.

Performance Management:

• Support performance appraisal processes, including providing managers with guidance on conducting evaluations.

• Assist in identifying training and development needs for employees.

• Help implement performance improvement plans when necessary.

HR Policies and Procedures:

• Ensure that HR policies and procedures are communicated effectively to employees.

• Assist in updating and maintaining employee handbooks and other HR documents.

• Monitor compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Benefits Administration:

• Assist with enrollment and changes to employee benefit plans, such as health insurance and retirement plans.

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and resolve issues as needed.

• Coordinate with benefits providers and ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping.

Legal Compliance:

• Stay informed about changes in employment laws and regulations.

• Assist in ensuring company compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

• Support HR audits and investigations as needed.

HR Reporting and Analysis:

• Compile HR metrics and prepare reports for management, such as turnover rates, recruitment statistics, and training activities.

• Analyze HR data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.

Employee Engagement and Recognition:

• Assist in organizing employee events and activities to promote engagement and team building.

• Support employee recognition programs to acknowledge outstanding performance and achievements.

Training and Development:

• Coordinate training sessions and workshops for employees on various topics, such as safety, compliance, and professional development.

• Maintain training records and track employee participation in training programs.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ASSETS

As the Human Resources Generalist, you:

• Possesses exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with employees, management, and external stakeholders.

• Are able to demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities, adept at identifying HR issues, analyzing root causes, and devising practical solutions.

• Exhibit excellent organizational skills, adept at multitasking, prioritizing responsibilities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Are proficient in time management, efficiently allocating resources to fulfill HR duties within a part time schedule.

• Are skilled in conflict resolution, capable of diplomatically addressing conflicts, mediating discussions, and fostering constructive resolutions.

• Are adaptable to evolving priorities, procedures, and organizational needs. Possesses technical proficiency, utilizing HRIS software and other digital tools with ease.

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of HR laws, regulations, and best practices, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.

• Possess a familiarity with recruitment strategies, performance management techniques, benefits administration procedures, and payroll processing protocols. Well-versed in HR principles and methodologies, facilitating effective management of HR functions.

• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or a related field, with HR certification providing an advantage. Prior experience in HR roles is essential, providing a solid foundation in HR practices, policies, and regulations.

• Brings previous experience in HR roles, supplemented by customer service experience, enhancing the ability to address employee inquiries and concerns effectively.
