Contexte

Sous la co-supervision de professeur Dominique Drouin et Docteur Dominic Lepage, nous sommes à la recherche de chercheuses et chercheurs doctoraux pour un projet financé sur la fabrication de circuits photoniques intégrés permettant l’adressage de qubits pour le développement de senseurs quantiques industriels.

Description du projet:

L’objectif du projet vise la réalisation de nano circuits photoniques intégrés permettant l’adressage de qubits pour le développement de senseurs quantiques industriels. De tels systèmes seraient utilisés comme magnétomètre ultra-sensible dans les secteurs de la prospection géologique, la défense, la navigation, l'imagerie médicale et pour le développement d'ordinateurs quantique. Il s'agit d’une première technologie quantique à être mise en marché et adoptée à grande échelle.

Ce projet de doctorat rémunéré se situe dans le cadre de la Stratégie quantique nationale du Canada et de la Zone d’innovation en quantique du Québec. Notre équipe de l’Institut interdisciplinaire d'innovation technologique (3IT) développe des solutions technologiques d’impacts en collaboration rapprochée avec la compagnie SB Quantum, le Conseil National de Recherche du Canada, le Centre de Collaboration MiQro Innovation, l’Institut Quantique ainsi que l’Institut National d’Optique.

Le projet vise à développer le protocole de nanofabrication d'un dispositif photonique quantique pour une production à grande échelle afin de permettre sa commercialisation. En plus d’une miniaturisation, ce projet vise à établir un gain d’efficacité de plusieurs ordres de grandeurs sur les produits commerciaux alternatifs par l’exploitation de la technologie de résonance magnétique détectée optiquement (ODMR). La conclusion de ce projet aura un impact majeur pour les partenaires de recherche et sur l’industrie du quantique au Canada en général.

Responsabilités

La personne retenue aura l’opportunité de s’épanouir dans l’environnement des salles blanches du 3IT afin d’y développer les processus de microfabrication industriels :

  • Préparation d’échantillons de couches minces : Métaux, Diamant, Al2O3, Si3N4, SiO2.
  • Étalement de résine, électro et photo lithographies, dépôts et gravures plasma.
  • Manipulations en bancs humides.
  • Métrologie des nanostructures par ellipsométrie, microscopie électronique et à force atomique.

Profil recherché :

• Spécialisation en physique appliquée, micro-nanotechnologies, nanosciences ou génie microélectronique

• Compétences en science des matériaux, microfabrication en salle blanche et caractérisation électrique

• Leadership, curiosité, autonomie, sens des responsabilités et travail en équipe

• Atouts : Connaissances en conception de circuits intégré et de système photonique et en micromanipulations.

Étant donné que le projet de recherche implique une technologie sensible, le candidat ne doit être affilié à aucun des pays où le Canada impose des sanctions.
