Position Description: We are currently seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in the design, analysis, and implementation of structural components for hydropower projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and civil engineering, with a focus on hydropower applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing structural components for hydropower projects, including dams, penstocks, and intake structures.
  • Conducting structural analysis and calculations to ensure the integrity and stability of hydropower infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with civil engineering plans.
  • Performing site inspections and assessments to identify structural requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Providing technical expertise and support to project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the development of innovative solutions and best practices in structural engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with a focus on structural engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a specialization in hydropower systems.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and permitting processes for hydropower projects.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Professional engineering designation (P.Eng) in British Columbia is preferred.
