Job Summary:

We here at Happy Dad are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Warehouse and Operations Associate to assist with the launch and efficient operation of our small warehouse in addition to support of our day-to-day business. 

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of warehouse best practices, an impeccable work ethic and attitude, and familiarity with Shopify. 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Warehouse Operations:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Handle all aspects of the warehouse operation, including receiving, inventory control, packaging and shipping (both DTC and B2B).
  • Implement and maintain warehouse organization systems and procedures to optimize space utilization and product flow.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    • Inventory Management:
    • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accurate tracking of stock levels including regular inventory cycle counts and data reconciliation. 
    • Anticipate potential stockouts or overstock situations.
    • Optimize inventory storage and rotation to minimize waste and obsolescence.
      • Order Fulfillment:
      • Execute the picking, packing, and shipping of DTC and B2B orders. 
      • Implement strategies to improve order fulfillment efficiency. 
      • Monitor order fulfillment metrics and identify areas for improvement.
        • Shipping and Receiving:
        • Manage the receiving process, ensuring accurate verification of incoming shipments and proper documentation.
        • Coordinate with various carriers (parcel and LTL) to ensure timely shipping.
        • Negotiate rates with carriers and optimize shipping methods to minimize costs.
        • Create BOL's as needed. 
          • Continuous Improvement:
          • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and efficiency.
          • Implement lean principles and best practices to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
          • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
          • Field Support:
          • Assist with local pickup and delivery of assets. 
          • Support the marketing team with logistics, setup and strike of field marketing assets at sponsored events. 

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of proven experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Experienced with Package and Pallet Shipping and Receiving
  • Proficiency in using shipping software and other relevant technologies.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Fully fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Valid Ontario G-class driver's license with clean abstract 
  • Experience in towing / handling trailers up to 5,000 pounds

Notes:

  • This is a full-time on-site position, located in Vaughan, Ontario (near Highways 27 and 7)
  • Typical working hours will be Monday to Friday, however occasional evening and weekend work may be required. 
  • Occasional travel within Ontario may be required.

Salary: $55,000 annually
