Title: Senior Buyer (On-Site Kingsville) Reports to: Purchasing & Inventory Control Manager
Type of Employment : Full time, permanent on-site, extended hours depending on workload and priorities, which will include some Saturdays.

As the Senior Buyer at Mucci Farms, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of direct (packaging e.g. Corrugate, resin, bags, labels, and film) and indirect materials (e.g. This role ensures cost-effective and timely purchasing while maintaining quality standards and supplier relationships.

Support Mucci Farms operations in Canada, US, and Mexico overseeing Direct and or Indirect procurement, spend and purchasing, which will include packaging, MRO, services and Capex
Use expertise in Contract Management best practices to secure the highest value over a Contract Lifecycle
Develop and maintain strategic sourcing documents and acquire in-depth subject matter expertise and market intelligence for the category
Create RFQs, search for suppliers, and issue BIDs to secure optimal cost benefits for the organization
Monitor inventory levels of assigned commodities to maintain balanced stock and improve turns by analyzing incoming goods against forecasted demand and setting appropriate re-order points in the system
Ensure timely, accurate entry and confirmation of purchase orders to support assigned duties
Create and provide reports to the Purchasing and Inventory Manager on a regular basis
Manage, develop, and nurture supplier relationships to maximize long-term Total Cost of Ownership and minimize business risk
Apply experience to identify problems and find creative solutions to meet customer demands
Post-secondary Business diploma or degree or related field is preferred
~2+ years of experience in a Purchasing/Buyer role is required
~ Previous experience in the food or CPG industry is highly desirable
~ Previous experience purchasing packaging is preferred
~ Previous experience coaching and mentoring junior buyers would be an asset
~ Proven ability to negotiate with vendors and suppliers
~ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Windows and ERP software
~ Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with staff and Grower members to ensure the daily supplies of all packaging related materials
~ Proven ability to multi-task and meet customer deadlines
~ Relocation is available
