Project Engineer

Summary

As our business continues to grow so does our need for great engineers. We’re looking for a project engineer to join our team At Newcastle, we believe it is important for our engineers to have a well-rounded knowledge of the work we do. As a result, your primary role as a project engineer is to do a variety of duties including design work, surveying, field reviews, and engineering to gain exposure to all aspects of the business with the aim of becoming a project manager.

You bring a hard-working attitude and an eye for quality. You’re the type of person who is meticulous in everything you do and is driven to achieve the goals you set for yourself. You’ll fit in because you enjoy working as a team and believe that working together is the best way to get a better result.

Our Ideal Candidate

· 4th year E.I.T. or later;

· Registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC;

· Experience in a civil engineering industry;

· Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D;

· Experience in municipal infrastructure design or construction is an asset.

Your Work With Us

· Prepares design drawings and calculations under the supervision of the Engineer of Record;

· Administers and inspects projects to ensure that works are in conformance with the contract documents, approved plans, and specifications;

· Liaises and coordinates with various approval authorities, consultants, and contractors with respect to on-site project activities;

· Maintain and nurture relationships with clients;

· Maintain a strong, positive external profile for Newcastle Engineering;

· Records and maintains daily field review reports and journals complete with photos and field test reports;

· Field reviews the installation of underground utilities (e.g., storm, sanitary, water, etc.).
