Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Agronomist serving the Central/North Region, Alberta, Canada
As a Technical Sales Agronomist , you will develop and provide agronomic, product, and service education to the field sales team that helps support the sales and service of Corteva Crop Protection and Brevant brand seed products and associated technologies. You will also assess new products for fit in meeting customer needs in the area. The Technical Sales Agronomist also supports the field sales team by working to resolve customer service calls while also providing product, agronomic and general crop production information through several mediums directly to customers.
This is a remote position with a preference for the candidate to live in Central/North Alberta. If hired, you will be required to travel as necessary to support business activities.
Product Evaluation:

Collect information/notes and observations related to the performance of Corteva Crop Protection and Brevant brand seed products and associated technologies.
Provide overall performance evaluations on Crop Protection and Brevant brand seed products.
Coordinate area Product Knowledge Plot (PKP) and Research Authorization trials with TM's and the field sales team.
Provide liaison between field sales and research.
Take part in area crop management projects as appropriate.
Technical/Agronomic/Product Training:

Work with assigned Territory Managers (TM's) to provide support for information and education/training to field sales team on product characteristics, product positioning and crop management practices.
Have a working knowledge in areas such as grain end use opportunities, seed technologies and Corteva product offerings in relation to seed.
Have a working knowledge in western Canadian crop production and crop protection practices to make farmers successful. Knowledge of Corteva Crop Protection and Biologicals products will be beneficial.
Train field sales team on methods to handle service calls to enhance selling activities.
Efficiently and effectively transfer technical knowledge to the sales field team by developing materials, references, structured sessions, and providing ongoing seminars.
Product Lifecycle Management:

Represent area in identifying and communicating long-term product needs and short-term product gaps to the Business Unit and Field Sciences teams.
Represent area in product advancement/evaluation discussions and decisions.
Guide Territory teams on new product introductions and retirements for both seed and crop protection products.
Collaborate with the Technical team, Portfolio Marketing Managers, and Technical Product Managers to summarize product performance information and create product positioning information and materials.
Sales Support:

Resolve customer service calls involving product performance and/or agronomic issues when unable to be resolved by Territory Manager.
Assist in building strong relationships with local universities and governmental agencies end users, influencers, and other industry representatives.
Provide service and information to customers, prospects and farm managers through various methods and mediums (customer meetings, service calls and sales calls)
Assist with sales calls as needed.
Provide input and/or evaluate Territory Manager, selection and evaluation in concert with the District Sales Leaders
Collaborate with District Leader to meet the needs of the field sales team you support.
Qualifications

What do we need from you?

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in an agronomic field. Master's Degree in agronomy or equivalent is preferred.
Five years of Agronomy experience and proven abilities
Ability to pass driving record and background check
Demonstrated skills in: Selling, negotiating, influencing, and presenting, teaching and training. Conflict resolution and handling objections.
Demonstrated ability to build/maintain strong relationships with customers, key industry/market influencers, Pioneer & Corteva internal partners and teammates.
Work effectively within a team environment.
Lead and influence projects and coach individuals in accomplishing defined objectives/goals.
Understand the needs and values of partners and customers and develop solutions to satisfy/retain.
Generate results by taking initiative, overcoming obstacles & finding creative solutions.
Work independently with minimum supervision.
Work in and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
Certified Crops Advisor and Professional Agrologist designations are preferred.
