Community Liaison Worker - Seniors Programming (Canada Summer Job Grant)

At Baptist Housing, every day is an opportunity for you to help our seniors experience life well in supportive communities. As the Community Liaison Worker for our Evergreen Campus of Care in White Rock, you’ll establish partnerships with local community groups, businesses, and schools to enrich the activities and programs available to our seniors. Collaborating closely with the Volunteer Coordinator, you'll help develop a community partnership model, create presentation materials, establish procedures, maintain a contact database, and aid in program implementation. 
Canada Summer Job Grant Opportunity 
This is an 8-week, 35 hour per week temporary position. 
In this role, you'll collaborate with our long-term care, assisted living, and independent living teams to understand resident needs and aspirations. Your main tasks include establishing connections with local community organizations, businesses, and societies, creating a network of partnerships, and maintaining a database of potential activities. Working closely with the Volunteer Coordinator, you'll develop outreach materials and facilitate volunteering opportunities for seniors while also assisting in program planning and implementation. Daily documentation and reporting on community activities will be essential, along with collaborating with various team members to ensure program suitability and resident engagement. Additionally, you'll engage with residents directly to inform them of available services and programs to enhance their quality of life. Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years old at the beginning of employment. 
Completion or pursuit of a degree in business, health, or social sciences is required. 
Ideally, candidates should have 1-2 years of experience working with seniors. 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and digital communication and data collection tools is necessary. 
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to effectively engage with diverse community members and present information. 
A valid BC driver’s license with a safe driving history is required. 
Consent for a Criminal Record Check for working with Vulnerable Adults is mandatory.
