Senior Backend Developer

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer (Conversation Engineering Specialist) with a strong background in designing and implementing chatbot frameworks and building cloud native solutions. We are hiring for a highly collaborative and high performance senior engineering-only team. A great candidate would specialize in building highly performant real-time chat systems. Experience with designing and creating backends for hybrid chat-bots (combining LLMs and rule-based approaches) will be a huge plus.
Hands-on problem solving, critical thinking, design thinking and extreme coding.
Lead with humility, collaborate, and help flesh out the best solutions with a high performance senior engineering team.
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our platform backend using Python.
Help design and implement cloud native solutions.
Apply advanced system design patterns and architectures to ensure high performance, reliability, robustness and scalability of the platform.
Balance short term wins and long term gains.
Help design the backend for an AI-chat platform, including architecting cloud infrastructure and deployable frameworks, that seamlessly integrate and invoke several backend microservices, AI-agents, internal and external APIs – always optimizing for max efficiency.
Conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality code.
Building backend frameworks and implementations that allow tying multiple products together into a chat-like interface.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or a related field.
~5+ years experience as a Platform Engineer / Backend Engineer or a similar role, specifically with Conversation Engineering. Hands-on experience with chat systems and real-time communication technologies.
~ Extensive experience with Python programming, design patterns, async programming and familiarity with basic data analysis tools such as pandas, numpy, etc.
~5+ years experience in cloud native development using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
~ Experience with AI-driven chat tools like Google Dialog-flow, IBM Watson, or creating a custom chat platform.
~ Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
~ Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.
~ Experience with AI and Machine Learning.
