Story Behind the Need:

• Business Group: The position is for a Development Contractor within the GBME – OTC Derivatives group and entails taking on a Development role within the Peak XV Development Team. Peak XV is an in-house build Derivatives Trading Platform that provides derivatives structuring, lifecycle management, valuation/risk and data dissemination capabilities. The incumbent is responsible for developing and providing efficient and cost-effective technical solutions within the Peak XV Ecosystem.
• Project: The candidate must be able to interact with numerous internal teams including Operations, Application support groups and Global Data Platform. The incumbent will have at least 5-10 years of progressive IT experience and a strong technical background. The individual must be self-driven, think proactively and be able to provide leadership and guidance as the role requires

Typical Day in the Role:

• Participate in development of cost effective and robust applications.
• Participate in TDD/BDD implementation and testing for the built applications.
• Provide L3 technical support to applications in production and during user acceptance testing.
• Participate in systems design, planning, and development.
• Manage or work within cross-functional teams to deliver BAU and/or Project initiatives.
• Participate in daily stand ups
• Provide support to the team and help to troubleshoot any issues that arise

Must Have Skills/Requirements:

• 10+ years of Development Experience
• 5+ years of experience working with Java 8+ and Spring Boot Framework.
• 2+ years experience in application / solutions architecture. Able to design efficient, scalable, and reliable systems
• 1+ years experience using Linux or Unix, including related scripting
• Extensive hands-on experience with all phases of SDLC

Nice to have Skills:

• Prior management experience would be an asset
• Knowledge of financial products/instruments.
• Prior Financial Institutional Experience

Soft Skills:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ideas must be able to be understood and shared easily.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Strong ability to work on several concurrent assignments involving various technologies and environments.
• Disciplined approach to development methodology and software development technologies and concepts.

Best Vs Average Candidate:

• The ideal candidate would have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. As well as extensive hands-on experience with all phases of SDLC.

Education :

• Bachelors/ Masters degree related field

Interview Process:

• 1-step process – Panel Video Interview with Sr. Manager (hiring manager) and 3 other team members

Additional Notes:

• Full Tech Stack:
o 5+ years of experience working with Java 8+.
o 5+ years of experience in Spring Boot Framework.
o 2+ years experience in application / solutions architecture. Able to design efficient, scalable, and reliable systems.
o 4+ years experience with Messaging BUS/ Brokers like: Solace, Kafka, Redis
o 2+ years experience with Python programing language.
o 4+ experience working with Realtime, high availability and low latency systems.
