Located in the historic Niagara region of Ontario, Canada, Brock offers all the benefits of a young and modern university in a safe, community-minded city with beautiful natural surroundings. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the successful candidate will be able to evidence significant strategic leadership within a complex institution and governance structure. They will have financial acumen as well as experience in management, team building, working with Boards, external engagement, and fundraising. The successful candidate will hold a terminal degree with a track record of scholarly achievement and a deep understanding of academic institutions. At a time defined by COVID-19, the next President will have a view of how Brock can move to its next stage of evolution as the world moves beyond the pandemic.
Of critical importance, the next President will be committed to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and anti-racism. Equally, they will bring a commitment to reconciliation, indigenization, and decolonization. They should demonstrate a track record of success in moving forward both of these areas in meaningful and impactful ways. They should be able to point to success in building inclusive communities of diverse students, staff, and faculty in which people feel welcome, respected, and valued.
An executive search is being undertaken by Brock’s search partner Perrett Laver.
