Our challenge

Our client in the insurance industry is looking for a Senior Oracle DBA to provide infrastructure and production support for Oracle DBMS environments, supporting applications focusing on support of DB infrastructure across Linux, AIX, or Windows operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • The installation, configuration, and maintenance of multiple Oracle DBMS environments
  • Proactive monitoring and Auditing of all databases
  • Backup, recovery, disaster recovery and housekeeping tasks
  • Incident, capacity and performance management for both production and development environments and databases
  • Consult in design of efficient tables and indexes, apply table and view modifications
  • Monitor and tune database performance
  • Maintain security of databases by granting and revoking of privileges
  • Utilize Database Utilities for the DBMS
  • On-call rotation and out of hours working to support incidents and changes

Requirements:

You are

  • Significant hands-on experience with a combination of Oracle 12.x and 19c databases
  • Strong UNIX experience
  • Experience with logical and physical database design
  • backup, recovery, and housekeeping
  • performance monitoring and tuning
  • Strong SQL and scripting skills
  • In-depth knowledge of DataGuard, RMAN, and RAC
  • Experience with AWS
  • 2 or more years technical support experience in Oracle databases on Red Hat Linux
  • Located in Montreal for hybrid work model

It would be great if you also had:

  • Experience with Oracle Grid Control, TOAD, DBArtisan and SQL Developer.
  • Imperva, Azure

Exigences, Vous êtes

• Expérience pratique significative avec une combinaison de bases de données Oracle 12.x et 19c.

• Solide expérience en UNIX.

• Expérience de la conception logique et physique de bases de données.

• Compétences en sauvegarde, récupération et entretien systématique.

• Capacité à surveiller et optimiser les performances des bases de données.

• Fortes compétences en SQL et en scriptage.

• Connaissance approfondie de DataGuard, RMAN et RAC.

• Expérience avec AWS.
