Canada EMSL Analytical, Inc. Full time

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Asbestos) in  St. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. Preparation and analysis of bulk and solid materials for asbestos content using PLM (Polarized Light Microscopy), PCM (Phase Contrast Microscopy), and/or TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy), and all ancillary quality control procedures
Record data in a specified manner
Some clerical work may be involved including login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science: Geology, Microbiology, Biology, Environmental Science, and/or Chemistry a plus
Light microscopy, optical mineralogy/petrographic microscope training a plus
Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus
Candidate must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
Good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills
Available Shift :
